Drugs and Health
By David Stern
Nowadays, I don't use any drugs or medicine. Does it mean I'm healthy? I suppose that I'm healthier than a lot of people that do need medicine. Many people use drugs for headaches or other minor aches. I hardly do that eather. When I have a headache, it's usually because I caught cold or because I didn't drink enough water. I handle my headache coping with the real problem, and not with the symptom. When people use drugs to fight the symptom instead of the illness, they just make it worse. You don't drink enough water? Using pills against your headache won't help you! You don't sleep enough? A gallon of coffee won't wake you up! My advise is that if you want to be sure that some drug or medicine would help you, go to a doctor. Otherwise, don't use it. There are many drugs available in the drugstore without prescription, but that doesn't mean they're necessarily good. |
