Television for me is part of the past.

Today, I don't have a television set at home at all. I used to have, but in recent years I haven't found anything interesting on TV. I used to watch series like "Star Trek - The Next Generatin", "The X Files" and a little bit of "Seinfeld" and "Friends". That's it. Even when I turn on a TV, I find it hard to concentrate in the show. Little noises distract me. What I like to watch is movies. I usually watch them at the theater or on my DVD in my computer. I think that what took me away from television was the internet. On the internet, I can watch whatever I want whenever I want, and not only that - the internet is interactive. The internet is the stage where I express myself. I can participate in discussions. I can write talkbacks and leave comments. I can't do anything on TV besides watching. I can't leave comments to TV shows or write talkbacks to the news edition. Television cannot help me find people who share my interests. I have heard that the television's popularity is declining, especially since the internet is replacing it. I believe that television will very soon belong to the past. The internet belongs to the future. |
