The meaning of web promotion

There are people that don't understand that web development and web promotion are two parts of the same thing, and that they should always come together. A website can be the prettiest in the world, have the most interesting content in the world, sell the best and the cheapest products in the world - but it still won't be worth anything if nobody knows about it. Web promotion doesn't necessarily have to cost money. It does if you want someone to do the job for you, but in fact, the job can be done by anyone, even by yourself. All you need to do is surf the net and be active as much as you can. Be active in forums, communities and social networks. Post links to your website wherever you can. Find people that are interested in the subject of your website. Write a blog. For example, I have posted my original music compositions in a website called Esnips ( http://www.esnips.com/web/DavidSternsmusic ) a little less than three years ago. While my fellow musicians get in this time no more than 300 visitors to their music files without any promotion, I have got more than 67,000 visitors to all of my music files together. And that's even before I posted my music pieces in my own website ( http://www.faceglobal.com/David_Stern/English/david-stern-music.aspx ), witch I promote today. |
