The right use of a car

I have a car, I think it's worth keeping, but most of the time I prefer using public transportation than my car. I live today close to a train station, and before I lived where it is easy taking a bus to work. On weekdays, public transportation is much cheaper than the fuel expenses of the car. I'm not even counting yet the cost of the car and insurance expenses. That means that even if I own a car, it's cheaper to leave it at home. I insist on living close to public transportation stations, so getting with it to work will not take longer time than by car. Driving to work and back from it is always on the rush hours, so the roads are jammed. The train is not influenced by traffic jams. I use my car especially on weekends when I go out. That is when it is realy more comfortable using my private car - when the hours and the destinations are irregular.
I recomend you to use public transportation too, even if you own a private car. The world will be a better place if we all do the same. Why? * Saving fuel and parking expenses.
* Reducing traffic jams and time on the roads.
* Reducing the amount of car accidents.
* Reducing air pollution: it is proved that in big cities, a big amount of the air polution comes from private cars.
* Fighting terror: The major amount of oil used for fuel comes from countries that export and support terror attacks, like Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran and some countries in Africa. Each time we go to the gas station to fill our tank, we finance terror. Cutting these countries' income will reduce world terror. |
