Wall-E
For all those who don't know what it is: "Wall-E" is a new movie from Disney & Pixar. From the moment I've first heard about this movie I knew I wanted to watch it, as I was never disappointed from a Disney-Pixar movie. I watched "Wall-E" on Friday night in the cinema, and I wasn't disappointed from this one either. Let's start with the quality of the animation, witch is far beyond anything else. There's so much detail in it, and it looks so real, that it doesn't feel like animation at all. It feels like I can step into the world of the movie. An interesting fact is that there are no dialogs in the first 30 minutes of the movie. It only proves how much can be said in images, sound effects and the characters' "body language". Actually, that's what makes movies unique, compared to theater and other arts. Beyond the esthetics of "Wall-E", the movie deals with the environment. It is not the only movie produced recently that deals with the environment ("The Simpsons' Movie" is just another example), but it still makes me think: Is this how the world is going to look like in the future? Will earth be so polluted that life won’t be able to exist on it any more? Will mankind, by surrendering to capitalism, run away from its problems to space and leave the cleaning to machines? I think "Wall-E" was not made just for the fun. "Wall-E" may be a fantasy movie, but we should all consider what we do to prevent it from turning to reality. |
