Why a blog is a good format for a personal website

I have been owning a personal website ( http://www.davidstern.co.il/ ) for almost nine years now. I have always been looking for ways to develop it and promote it. One of the challenges I have is adding content to it. How do I add content to my website while keeping the general structure and design? Another problem I have got eventually is, that there is so much content in my website, that visitors don't know where to start from. A few months ago I created my blog ( http://www.faceglobal.com/ ). In my blog I can present my content items one by one, and in that way focus on each one of them separately. The blog's main page shows the latest item posted, and at the bottom there are links to previous items. I develop my blog by myself, as I am a web developer. In that way I am free to design my blog however I want, including seo. I have the freedom to embed JavaScript, images, music and video and whatever I want. I promote my blog in several ways: Besides posting links to my blog to improve my page rank, I have a mailing list, an rss feed and a Facebook group. I update them all every time I have a new post. I have dozens of permanent readers and hundreds of non-permanent readers to every post. |
